With impressive driving test results, Vauxhall Astra will arrive late summer this year
2015 Vauxhall Astra will be open for sale from November 2015, prices are expected to start from £13,000 approximately. New Astra will be available with couple of engine choices, ranging from 94bhp to 196bhp. A 1.0 litre three cylinder engine to deliver the best economy, 1.4 litre and 1.6 Vauxhall Astra engines are also available with turbocharged technology. A quite 1.6 litre diesel engine and will be offered for diesel lovers.
Astra VXR will be powerful enough to compete the Focus RS and Vauxhall is committed to develop it. The VXR will be soon in action with 276bhp of power from a 2.0 litre Vauxhall turbocharged engine. A tuned version of the VXR will also be offered with a 300bhp engine. It is highly likely that the Vauxhall will revive the Astra GSi brand soon to produce a slightly hard-core hatch as a rival to Ford Focus ST. It will be the second most powerful version after the VXR.
Chairman of Vauxhall said that several weak points were needed to be improve the old Astra and new model is bit heavier than the old one. Quality of built is Vauxhall’s top priority and in the case of Astra, Vauxhall is bit more careful.
Vauxhall fans will see the new Astra late this year, however a revived Corsa is also due in couple of months. Both models will be Luton based and the firm will have introduced four more models before the end of this year. Those four beauties are, Adam Grand Slam, the Hot and new Vauxhall Corsa and Corsa VXR, all new Viva city car. All these models set 2015 a very busy year for Vauxhall in UK.
