Long history of a legendary vehicle
In the fifth decade of the last century, it was first introduced and over the years, it has become bigger in body size and improved in comfort but basically remained an off-road specialist. That is the main peculiarity it retained while rivals changed it to more car-like engineering. It is the ninth generation of this automobile, so one can imagine the success it has enjoyed over a long period. In the United Kingdom, it is about a decade old and two years back it got exterior tweaks and facelift. The 3.0-litre diesel engine of Toyota has also got replaced by 2.8 liter four-cylinder diesel engine in 2015. There are no real choices for the buyers in the showroom.
Just one diesel engine is there and two body styles
Single diesel engine with two different gearboxes one is automatic and the other is manual six speed gearbox. Body styles are also two one with three doors and the other is five door Land-cruiser. The later body style comes up with third row of seats to make it a vehicle for seven passengers. The other variation includes three trim levels with titles of Active, Icon and Invincible. All these levels offer useful features and upgrades of practical advantages. The first trim level can be spotted by its black grille and side steps. The other two are bit same with complete chrome grille.
Trim levels offer good number of equipment’s to buyers
Equipment’s are quite generously added in all these levels as the first one has cruise control to keep driving safe and camera for rear view of the vehicle. The refinement of four by four drive need to be enhanced and it cannot be compared by any European rival. In appearance, it is a big heavy car. The riders remain comfortable unless the terrain becomes very rough with bigger bumps. Carbon emission is also higher so you have to pay a heavy tax to run it. It is always costly to keep an off road and Toyota diesel land-cruiser is no exception.
