Nissan is to give IDx the looks and muscularity of GT-R and a couple of tweaks to spice of the joyride
Nissan is highly devoted to beat Toyota GT-86 and not to let it run away with any of its styling lines; the Japanese automaker is working rigorously on its rear wheel drive muscle Coupe which is due in 2017. This concept was an inspiration of IDx concept which was showcased at Tokyo Motor Show 2013, and now once again, it’s the word of mouth that Nissan is redesigning the concept to give some tough time to Toyota GT-86.
Nissan says that the new IDx will be more muscular and aggressive when it will make its debut late in 2017. All the information about new Coupe has been given by an automaker insider and he said that the new IDx will be based on a whole new design with very muscular looks, spiky edges and deep lines.
The new IDx will be sharing more with the Sports saloon concept shown at Detroit Motor Show. It is expected that the new design model will be shy away from the previous IDx concept to reach back into race heritage of Nissan.
The production version of IDx is a spiritual successor for 200sx Coupe and will be based on limited version of 370z platform. It is also confirmed by insider that the Nissan engine of 180bhp will be used to power the new IDx. It might be a 2.0-Litre non-turbo engine but no sweat at its competitor is using a 197bhp in GT-86.
So, it is highly likely that the IDx will give GT-86 toughest time with its more adventurous exterior and a muscular engine when it hits the showrooms in 2017.
