Ford Transit Connect comes with Ford Duratorq engines and delivers excellent performance on the go
Ford Transit is one of the most appealing and admired light commercial van in the UK and now across the globe, was introduced in 60s. Since its launch, the Transit vans have never seen behind on the graph of progress. Every model Ford has introduced under the Transit nameplate, remained successful and earned fame. There are more than five hundred model trims in the UK market. The Transit has earned the fame to its extreme and it has seen the time when every light commercial van in the UK was called Transit. Ford has introduced the Transit connect in 2012 in the UK with an extreme practicality and utmost riding experience. It has the most advanced driving dynamics with refined looks and modern technology gadgets.
New European rivals like Mercedes Citan and VW Caddy has out styled the outgoing Transit but with the instigation of the new Transit connect, Ford has again won the race of transits. The Transit connect is not the smallest version of the Ford commercial vans but it is still very suitable for the small businesses. It is exactly the one most of the Ford customers were asking for since 2002. Ford has exactly targeted the customers who are working alone and needs mobile workshops e.g. plumbers, courier services, gas and electricity services, telephone and networking services in the UK and hundreds of that such kind of sole proprietorship businesses.
Then Ford has started an even smaller version of the Transit in 2014. It was a powerful Transit van for smaller businesses to support the even smaller operations e.g. line works. Ford has introduced both models with Duratorq engines in the UK market. These TDCi engines are ever more practical and refined with excellent fuel economy. However on the other hand, for the petrol lovers, Ford has introduced the EcoBoost engines with even smarter technologies. The EcoBoost engines are being offered across the Ford cars and vans.
What is it?
The Connect is the compact commercial van and tagged with the tones to compete the competitors in the UK market, where VW Caddy, Citroen Berlingo and Renault Kangoo are competing the Transit. The Transit keeps the crown of being the best ever light commercial van in the UK since decades. A number of brands came up against the Transit in the past but they failed in the UK market.
Ford Transit Connect Fuel Economy
The Ford Transit Connect engines are fuel efficient units and they could take the Transit connect up to 50 miles in a gallon of fuel and the EcoBoost petrol models are even more fuel economical than the diesel counterparts. Petrol engines have a fuel economy of 58 miles per hour to 71 miles per hour with a relatively smaller carbon footprint of 105g/km to the maximum of 129g/km.
The new connect range uses the entire range of engines in different variations and with the introduction of Ford’s EcoBoost engines, the Connect range has become more popular because in the UK, the trends towards diesel fuel are changing. The reason behind these changing trends is more regulated carbon emission rules. Diesel engines are considered as the dirty units due to dangerous sulpvher particles on the exhaust. However, the diesel engines are still more practical and refined than their petrol counterparts due to the excellent delivery of torque.
Ford Transit Connect Engines
When it comes to the engine’s performance of the Transit connect, there is no competition of these power units.
Ford’s Duratorq TDCi engines come in different power variants including the 1.6-litre engine. The models available in three states of power where its starts from 75bhp version and ends with the 113bhp version. For the petrol lovers, Ford has introduced the 1.0-litre EcoBoost engines and these smaller units are equally efficient as the diesel engines.
