The Ford Motors and the Fiat Chrysler offer incentives to trade-in to unhappy VW customers in Italy.
Ford Motor Co and Fiat, Chrysler automobiles have started “incentive scheme” in Italy. According to details, both of the automobile giants have offered an incentive for buying new models from them to VW owners with the affected diesel models. There are 650,000 affected diesel models of VW moving on the roads in Italy. It seems rivals have made a plan to give tough time to VW during its worst period of history. The most of the models sold in Italy include VW, Seat, Skoda, and Audi brands.
Ford Motor has presented trade-in-bonus of 750 euro to unhappy VW customers, initially offer is limited to the customers in Italy only. The Ford Motor told, the offer is valid from 31st of October and it will attract Skoda and Seat customers to exchange their cars with the Ford models, and avail financial benefits of 750 euro as well. It might be extended to the US and other parts of the Europe. The real big trouble for VW, isn’t?
Fiat Chrysler has brought lucrative offers for angry customers to VW Group, the company offers trade-in incentives of 500 euros to 1500 euros for Fiat minicars and Jeep Grand Cherokee. According to the details, Fiat is offering 500 euro, for the Fiat Panda, and 500 euro for Lancia Ypsilon, and Alfa Romeo MiTo. It increases to 750 euro for Fiat 500L, 500X and Freemont whereas the highest incentive is euro 1500, by the Fiat group on the Grand Cherokee.
However the dealers don’t look so happy with the lucrative offer of both the companies, they say, the campaign has not drawn traffic to boost sales from its start on 1st October 2015.
The dealer is also showing concern on trade-in offer because the VW Group will recall the affected diesel engines to remove the cheating device. One step further, one of the dealer said, it is not a normal business competition but looting a rival in difficulties, But Ford and Fiat believe in the old saying, “all is fair in love and war”
It is to note that trade-in offer is only available on dealers of Ford Motors and Fiat Chrysler and limited to Italy only, however, there is no such offer available on other auto makers’ dealers.
