Volvo’s self-filling car will never run out of fuel because it will alert the mobile suppliers to top up when running low

Volvo has hinted that they are about to develop a new series of self-filling cars whenever it goes close to empty. A text message will be sent to the mobile fuel suppliers when the fuel will run down. They will have a secure code to open up the filling cap of cars’ fuel tank. After this, drivers will never need to visit the filling stations.

Volvo never talks about new technologies that they are about to introduce, but whenever asked they always answered “Maybe” and in the case of fuel technology they also said the same. However the head of technology at Volvo, KlasBendrik said, “The widespread use of smartphones is unlocking new potential in what you can do connecting a car with a customer. The internet of things has hit the automotive industry and the widespread use of smartphones is unlocking new potential in what you can do connecting a car with a customer.”

Volvo is no doubt that they always offer automated technologies for their cars, such as the de-icers which allow users to activate them remotely from their homes and the vehicle is ready before starting their journey. Similarly, some cars allow their drivers to locate them in the car parking by horn blow or flashing the lights. There is another similar project under development to make the car communicate with other cars. This technology will help the drivers by informing them about the expected collisions before they happen.

Volvo is also working on self-driving cars and the chief executive of Volvo Hakan Samuelsson has confirmed that “It would be a bit like an airplane, for complicated manoeuvres driver will assist the vehicle and rest of the part will be done by auto-pilot and driver will be able to relax in the meantime or can spend that time with his on-board partners.
